Walking through the doors of Hooters the day that I went to fill out the application was one of the most nerve-racking experiences. Trying to get a job at Hooters was not something I had really planned on. They escorted me to an empty table over in the corner and they brought me a glass of water, I was being catered to. It just so happened that I came on the day when the store manager was on duty; he brought me the application and a pen, then told me to take my time. It was just like any other job application; education, work experiences, references. It did not ask me my bra size, my favorite football team, or if I could hula-hoop; that was kind of what I was expecting. Prior to receiving this amazing job I was one of the people who had it all wrong about this company. I was aware of the misconceptions, the rumors, the stereotypes but I did not believe they were all true, and I was right. The store manager, Jose, asked me if I had time to talk after I had completed the application.

Regular restaurants require longer training and sometimes testing, at Hooters you train quickly and the menu is easy so you can start earning right away. Plus it is way more fun and relaxed environment, you can sit down and chat if you feel like it.
People who think Hooters is for dumb muchh simply haven’t worked. I worked at Hooters for 2 years and I loved it! However I think it also depends on which store you are working for as some stores have auto gratuity. But even at the worst Hooters you make money. I worked at the Hooters in Bayside Miami Fl, one of the top stores in the country.
I never left with less than on a night shift, including during the week. During the day at least I went to work at Hooters to take a break from corporate america. Turned out that most weeks I made more at the restaurant part time than Muchh did in my full time job. So I quit hooterw starting working 4 days and it was amazing. Flexible schedules, tuition reimbursement when I went back for my JD.
I was able to makee my mortgage every month and still have plenty money to play. I made at least 4, CASH month working days a week. Now that I have my JD I am back working corporate, but of course now the money is much better. I am glad I decided to work at Hooters, I was able to save a lot of money and I enjoyed the perks! Also the networking you do if you are selected to do special events is great, I tou many of my best clients that way, being at sports events and tournaments!
As far hooyers your resume, it honestly depends on what you want to. If serving doesn’t apply worikng what you are aiming for then it doesn’t need to be on your resume.
If you are going for another server job which you probably won’t! I am a lawyer now and it never had a negative effect on me. I say go for it, trust me you will probably love it!
